About Dennis
Dennis Nehring is a lifelong North Dakotan, rancher, and public servant who brings decades of real-world experience to his role representing District 23 in the North Dakota House of Representatives.
For over 50 years, Dennis has operated and managed his ranch, building a life rooted in hard work, stewardship of the land, and a deep respect for rural communities. In addition to his agricultural background, he spent 20 to 30 years working in the oil industry, gaining hands-on experience in drilling rigs, pipeline construction, and hydraulic fracturing. This unique combination of agriculture and energy experience gives Dennis a well-rounded understanding of the industries that drive North Dakota’s economy.
Dennis holds an Associate Degree in Agriculture from Williston State College, an Associate Degree in Developmental Disabilities Assistance from Minot State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State University. His educational background reflects both his commitment to practical skills and his dedication to serving others.

Elected to the North Dakota House of Representatives in 2024, Dennis approaches his role with a strong sense of responsibility to the people of District 23. He is committed to representing conservative values, supporting policies that protect North Dakota’s way of life, and ensuring that the voices of rural families, farmers, and workers are heard in Bismarck.
Dennis continues to ranch during the summer months and values the time he spends with his family, especially his six daughters and fourteen grandchildren.
